Public Thanks to Forge Motorsport for tuning in Bahrain

Featured Replies

Forge Motorsport are currently on a business visit to Bahrain, Arabian Gulf. Yesterday Richard their Tuner from Forge tuned my Fabia vRS as it now has a FMIC and a free-flow exhaust system.

He explained what he did, but I didn't get it very well. He analysed my past map and showed me graphs which showed various points were sub-optimal.

Felt Results: extremely smooth power up to redline, much more of it by seat-of-my-pants dyno.

My BMW F1 driver bro-in-law shook his head after a drive and said that it was a huge difference in performance.

What I had thought might have been the clutch slipping was in fact a big dip in fuelling at a certain rpm.

I want to thank the guys from Forge for a superb truly custom re-map. Outstanding guys:thumbup:

Bas

Aye... well done to Richard and the forge team

Reespec! :D

good ol RBW

to be fair to whoever tuned the car before it was not bad for the climate. I suspect the diesel quality is quite different to ours over here too as this new remap (as well as the original) would have smoked like a train over here in the UK, however the car showed no signs of soot at all even with a straight through exhaust.

I only modified slightly on a few maps but it seemed to just perfect the tuning for the mods and the climate. It was a pleasure to help out, I wish UK customers were as pleasant as the Gulf area customers ; ) (only kidding, you know I love you all)

ps....Thanks Basil for all your efforts in looking after us while we were over for the short visit. I must go now as my cheese sandwiches are being served ; )

 don't worry Richard, I'm quite sure you guys have a good reputation in the UK as well ;)

Kinda need to make some food now, your sandwich reference is making me pekkish :D

Strange that the map worked well before, IIRC it was Jabba with the 'still aggressive' map, so fairly 'old' in terms of tuning progress.

It may be that the straight-through exhaust + arch venting etc have quite a good impact on the amount of smog produced, also IIRC Basil has the Forge FMIC, which on my car with the standard map reduced smoke VERY significantly in the warm weather.

Basil, any chance you can find yourself a reputable rolling road somewhere out there? Sounds like it is an ace map ;)

Actually I found out that there is a RR in Bahrain, located in some remote garage place. Gotta see what they charge for a run.....

Oh and the reference to the sandwiches - first night Peter, Richard and Yuri came over to my home.

I asked SWMBO to treat them like family. What did she do?

Served them cheese sandwiches and asked Peter to help with hanging up a mirror!!

I'll never live this down!:D

What ever happened to traditional Arabian hospitality!?

Oh well......

Mwhwuahahahaha :D that's excellent :D - nothing wrong with a Cheese sandwich, and with women you've got to be careful, before long the guys will be tuning up the toaster

and the Microwaves:rofl:

I am actually available for consultation on interior design Arabian Carpets and gold gilt edged mirrors ...... just mail me with your requirements ......

and theres nout wrong with cheese sandwiches ........as we all know
