Big favour needed in a hurry please...

Featured Replies

I would be super-grateful if someone could do a bit of photoshop for me in order to help me make a real decision (not just speculating)

My car goes into the bodyshop tomorrow to have the front and rear bumpers repainted due to scratches etc. and I'm toying with having them colour-code the black trim also. This would be the rub strips front and rear and the side strips.

Also I'd be interested to see how it would look when lowered.

Very many thanks in advance, Mark.

Very quickly done in paint.

I think the side strips are only stuck on and would probably be easy to remove rather than paint.

I can't do photoshop but have seen it somewhere else and it looks v.good, makes it look super smooth

Thanks ants....still not sure...your efforts are much appreciated though....

Anyone else ? Particularly for the first picture....

TIA, Mark.

Mine is just a black magic L&K, so wouldnt look to much different, but the trims are looking a bit grey at the minute. So if i got them sprayed Black, then it'd save me the time and effort Back-2-Blacking them.

I will try and get some pics on here, as i dont thinkj ive got any side view, will have a look now!!

Cheers,

Chris

Edit - Found a near side on view http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f175/jess0202/mynewcar1.jpg

Cheers ants!!!

Had a go myself, obviously not as good as some people can do it, but i think it looks OK!!!

What do you all think??

Chris

the bump strips on the door are indeed just stuck on, with some pretty obnoxious glue i might add!!!

but the ones on the bumpers are recessed in, so if you pull em off you will be left with a channel which would have to be filled to make the bumpers smooth

What do people think of the idea of taking the side strips off my car, but leaving the front and back on??

Just wondering what this would look like???

Chris

I thought I'd add a touch of realism with my photoshop effort :P

Thats more like it, excellent work, thanks.

Still undecided though. No worries....I've got more than 12 hours till the bodyshop guy arrives......

I like that - I still fancy doing that with my red vRS. I think if you do it, you should also get the B pillar black trims - they really change the look of the car from the sides.

Black vinyl stick-on pillar trims are listed accessories for the Octavia - but are not entirely straightforward to fit. Alternatively Milotec list carbon fibre lookalike (ie plastic) ones which can be purchased from JHM Butt & Co. They look good on the right colour car, eg silver or white, but not on dynamic blue.

This thread would suggest otherwise.....

Are you speaking fom personal experience when you say they are not entirely straightforward ?

The excellent pics and write up makes me think I could manage it ok without any hassle.

Anyway, could anyone help me visualise this on my car with its new colour-coded trim, please ?

I thought they were pretty easy to fit. What problems did you have?

I've updated my original piccies, look back a few posts...
