I've undone the four nuts holding it secure but I need to remove an oblong piece of plastic trim from below it on the outside. Is it just a case of easing it off (it's not coning off without a fight) or am I missing something.

Your advice would be appreciated. Phil

Unclip the centre piece first it should pull off and you will see a retaining screw for the side piece, undo this and slide it to the centre of the car to unhook it.
