Rear door lock

Featured Replies

I replaced the door seal on one of the rear doors last week and stripped the door down. Since then the door won't lock...:o

Anyone got any ideas what I've one before I strip the door down again later this week??

Did you plug the catch/lock back in again?

Yeah I did. The door seems to lock for a second but then unlocks straight away...

That usually means something is jamming the lock open or the door isnt properly shut.

Does the button mode up and down freely? Try it with the door open and the lock manually closed with a screw driver.

The lock button is sitting slightly higher than before but I couldn't work out why.

I tried shutting the the door manually and locking it but it still unlocks.

I'd take the door trm back off and check to see everything is moving correctly.

Did you take the pivot apart on the lock button?

Did you take the pivot apart on the lock button?

Yep that came apart. It felt a little stiff when I was putting it back together but I couldn't see anything different/out of place. Guess I'll just have to take it apart (again:rolleyes:) and put it all back together.

This'll be the 4th time I've had this door in bits!
