could any of you skoda whizzes tell me what output my engine is.

its a 1.4mpi and the engine code is 003250ATZ

1.4 MPIs push out a mighty 68 horsepowers in the Fabia, and 75 in the Octavia AFAIK. I have no explanation for the difference, I'm afraid!

Having used my wife's MPI-engined Fabia for commuting the last few weeks, I can say it's not too bad in terms of power (considering it's almost exactly half the output of my vRS) but the sub-35 mpg I was getting isn't all that great...

Sub 35mpg? I get 36MPG around town and over 40 on a run with mine , which is fantastic compared to the Evo! (mind you a Boeing 747 would probably be more economical than an Evo...)

The 1.4 in the Octavia is a 1.4 16v Volkswagen Unit, Used In The Fabia Automatic, base Octavia and Early Fabia Sports

The 1.48v MPI in the Fabia is a 60bhp(Not In The UK) or 68BHP Skoda 1.3 Unit,
