Cleaning the beast

Featured Replies

Just spent the last 2 hours cleaning the little rocket ready for it's Service and MOT. Yes... and i even took the front wheels off and cleaned them too. Tones of dirt on them - must be the back roads round here that I get to play on too and from work :D

Spent half an hour de-badging the Octavia badge on the rear... oops.. a little scrape here and there. Easy does it with the touch up... damm...looks like a splodge now! Will have to T-Cut that later.

Looks like a new car now. Just needs a polish - anyone know of any good polish to make it all sparkly like? And on the same subject - anything out there to protect the bonnet? I travel 1 motorway junction to work every day and i got loads of little chips

Al...

IMO - Harley Wax is the best to use. I swear by the stuff. Difficult to get hold of (Ebay is about the easiest), and not cheap, but boy does it shine. It is a natural wax and leaves no white residue, so you can slap it on without worry.

As mentioned something like SRP (Autoglym Super Resin Polish) and followed up by a good coat of Harly wax buffed off would be fine. Same for the wheels. Meguiars Endurance for the tyres and trim - apply with a cloth and buff off.

daft question, but here goes... is Harley Wax called Harley Wax or something else? Been looking on the web and all i can find is wax for Harley bikes????

I know you spelt it right in your post, but are you sure you spelt it right in your search? I just did a google, and the first hit was Harly Wax, Pure Brazilian Carnauba- Pauls Products Distr of Harley Wax

As mentioned, Ebay often has some good buys. I bought 2 tins recently for about 30 quid. Great stuff.

You mentioned it was called Harley wax ;)

You mentioned it was called Harley wax ;)

Oops :ignore: Sorry, it was me. Just checked my tin, and it is indeed HARLY without the 'e'. Sorry for the confusion !!

All this talk of Harly reminds me, I need a new tin soon!!

All this talk of Harley wax makes me all misty eyed over my Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic motorbike that I sold a couple a couple of years ago. I spent the cost of the bike again in customising it - sigh.

get yourself some collinite you won't be disappointed mine's had two coats now,i've just washed it ,and looks like it's been waxed again !!!! top stuff

I use Meguirs products they are pretty good...polish and separate wax. Takes time to do but well worth it.
