Skoda DX + iPod?

Featured Replies

Hey peeps. Can an iPod be played through the Skoda Dx navi unit? Or is it a FM transmittor job? In my current car I have a headunit with ipod connection so I can control the iPod through the headunit controls. This BTW is rubbish, unless you get the alpine version which was fantastic in my old car.

I'm looking at buying a Superb, but music is a big part of my driving, so I need to make sure I can do everything I need it to do with ease.

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Yes using the OEM IPod kit or similar such as a Denison Icelink. These do occupy the CD changer connector though.

Does the OEM adaptor mean you can use the iPod from the car stereo? Or do you still control it from the iPod itself? I'm not fussed bout the CD changer, thats what the iPod is for :P

This one will even display ID3 tags on the screen: SatNav Systems

Are you sure of this fact ? I have the Dension IceLink>Plus (which I think is the same product) and this only displays Current Track and Play time on my MFD2

I have emaild Sat Nav Systems to see if they know of a workaround...

That's this one Eddy - Octavia-vRS.com - Ipod Adaptor

I think people have reported no ID3 tags.

Sorry, just read the blurb. I don't have one myself as I have a phatbox instead.

I think it's a cut and paste from Denison Eddy, I suspect the ID's are available on suitable headunits.

The Phatbox does seem an ideal solution, I had a look at Tony's (Fluffmeister) a couple of weeks ago.

This is the thing that

The OEM kit is designed to leave the Ipod in the glovebox Amanda.

A main dealer would fit it for you. Failing that any ICE installer or similar would do.

Brilliant! BIG BIG BIG thanks Stu and Eddy. There

The OEM one is basically a Denison Icelink without a cradle. Should be Β£99 less any discount you can wangle from a VAG dealer. You can get the Icelink but as I said it comes with a docking cradle.

Brodit mount and cradle and not a single hole drilled anywhere :)

Is the Nokia wired into the Stream unit?

I have my SE one wired to my MFD2 and it was wired to my Stream before that.

Nothing special required.
