I think he means to say its in the dash - not the door

Its the flat panel on the end of the dash which the door closes against.

thanks for the help guys, in the end i never got a chance to check before i had to go to work. i just want to tell you why im looking for the fuses and some advice just in case its something else.

whilst messing with my stereo i think i may have blew a fuse as, the remote central locking isnt working, and before i started it was fine.

the central locking itself works fine putting the key in the door but does nothing when i press the buttons. the key fob seems to be working ok as the light still comes on when i press the fob.

is it likely to be a fuse as it showed no problems before i started fiddling with the stereo?

I doubt its a fuse if the central locking is working off the key, sounds like the remote needs reprogramming or there is a fault with it.

Are you sure the all doors are opening?

I have a similar problem- are the windows still working? I have lost the remote central locking but its still working with the key, but the windows, interior lights and sunroof have all stopped working.

checked all the fuses and none are blown, all the windows work fine, all the doors open fine when the key is turned in the door and my interior light is still working the only thing that isnt is the remote part of the central locking,

I had a similar thing (except that my interior light refused to work too), and it was a blown fuse (nr 36 iirc).

Read Page 13 0f the Owner's Manual.

Programming the remote is best done by VAG COM etc, never actually got the manual way to work myself.
