Octavia L+K help please

Featured Replies

I have just sold my fabia VRS as I need a bigger vehicle and I am looking at a 52 Octy 110 tdi L+K with 40K miles.

Seems clean, private seller with FSH. Any idea what I should be paying. Not too well up on the Octy so all help appreciated.

Thanks all

I got my 52 octy L&K this time last year, and paid around

The price guides vary enormously (one I looked at Parker or a Glass hook up? was obviously wrong), buy at the cheapest (WiseBuyer's Guides - used car prices, valuation, review, specs, guides, used car market report was very realistic and mileage adjusts) because you'll sure as hell never get the higher price when you come to sell.

There may be a bit of a distorted market whilst these are still young enough to be registered as a Taxi.

I paid £6500 for a 53 130PD L&K 6 months ago, highish miles, so I've already lost a wad.

Your proposed car (Private sale A1 condition) : 2002 £4600, 2003 £5000.

Thanks very much folks. Looks a bit of a minefiled of a market. May have to play it by ear and see what he asks.

Cheers

Paid £7_000 for an Elegance last April; same car was £6_800 in the guides in October.

Ken, just out of interest, punch yours into Wisebuyers now, private and retail price? And what year/engine, is it an estate?

Ours was a late 52 L&K 110 that was written off a couple of months ago. it had 114000 miles on it & the Insurance co paid out 6400. We bought it back for 1600 & its now repaired & back on the road.

They are great cars. Only problem we had was with the aircon, check its working OK, the pulleys have a habbit of falling off the compresor when the nut comes un done & it usually damages the thread on the way off meaning a new compressor, about £1000 fitted by a dealer. It normally only happens at much higher mileage, ours departed arount 100000 from memory. If you get one just get whoever sercices the car to loktite the nut.

can you tell me what the l&k is

can you tell me what the l&k is

The L&K is the top of the range trim wise, It comes in both Petrol & Diesel & now the 4x4 & it simply refers to the level of trim

The Mk 1 Octys had full leather, Xenon Headlights, Chrome Effect Alloy Wheels, Heated Seats, Cruise Control, Full Climate control & Sunroof, more speakers on the sound system, & a few other bits I cant remember.

The Estates tend to be more popular & hold their price better but the hatches are still a great car.

The 110 & 130 TDi K&K are IMO the best cars Skoda have built to date

L&K was named after Laurent & Klement who I believe were 2 of the founding fathers of Skoda

Think you pretty much covered it all, only other things I can think of is the sunroof is electric, and the wing mirrors are heated (as I found out when I had to replace one a Fire Truck took off!) The Alloys where 16" (205/55 - have dark chrome on mine, which basically means they always look a bit dirty.. at least that's my excuse)
