Removing centre console

Featured Replies

Fellow Briskodian's,

How on earth do you remove the centre console trim, including the small piece in front of the handbrake?

I've located all the screws, under front ashtray and under the rear tray but the I'm trying not to apply too much force to the handbrake trim.....

Cheers

That handbrake trim does just pull out. It is very stiff though and at worst if you do break it they are only a couple of quid.

Cheers, Stu, so brute force is the order of the day? I'll give it a go tomorrow morning.....

Another question in a similar vein, I just need to remove the front part of the console - the part that wraps round into the footwell on each side. Do I need to remove the main console first? I am fitting a Parrot (no wisecracks about nailing it to the perch) and I think I can put the control box underneath the front of the console.

and I think I can put the control box underneath the front of the console.

Might be lucky but thats where the airbag control unit sits.

I've got a properly annoying rattle under the front of my centre console (can be stopped by firmly pressing my left leg against the side of the console), so if it's not too difficult a job, I'll be doing this too.

I have pulled back the part of the front console that wraps round into the passenger foot well and it feels as if there is enough room there between the carpet and whatever the box is above it. Is that the airbag control unit? I thought it was the air conditioning unit.
