Gave my Fabia a good wash and vac this morning then since it was such a nice day I decided to go up the road and take some nice photos of it!

Have a look...

What do you think?

Looking good. Love the forth one down - Second one looks good too. Did you stitch a few photo's together.

Certainly cleaner than my car at the moment!

Very nice pics Stu. IMO You need some chrome door handle covers. They suit a silver fabia very well. Here they are on my black car:

Thank you. Yes, 2nd, 3rd and 4th are each 3 photos stitched together. When I took them I didn't think the 4th down was going to be any good, then got them to the computer and now it's my favourite of the pano ones!

Thanks Chris. Might consider the chrome handles. Not a big fan of chrome, but I've seen them on another silver Fabia and they do look nice. I have a list of bits and bats to do: they might join the list!

Excellent. I did spot a small colour change which gave me the impression it was stitched. What camera and stitch software are you using?

Not the Leek road by any chance?

Is this a Hitchcock convention? Can we have a picture Vertigoesque?

Camera is a Fuji Finepix CX3300 I think. Basic point-and-shoot with a half decent zoom. You can tell it's not amazing - the image gets a bit blotchy if you view the pics at 100% zoom (image pixels exactly matching screen pixels). I used Photoshop for the stitching - can't cope with any other image editing software!

If it's the A53 you're referring to then I'm pretty certain it's not. :)

I don't know where the Leek road is, I'm afraid. These shots were taken on the back road between Huddersfield and Oldham. Can't remember the road number and I'm not sure if it has a nick-name.

Wonderful road, though!

real quality photos, 4th one esp

The road is the Greenfield Road over Saddleworth. Or it could possibly be the spooky A640. Nice roads both but bumpy as they come. Reps and other nutters crossing the Pennines like to do it in a few minutes but plenty end up as compost if they get it wrong. Not a road to be messed with.

Just to say it's called the Isle of Skye road after a long extinct pub. Apparently the loos would have been higher than the new reservoirs so they demolished it. 'Course they forgot about a few thousand sheep doing what comes natural...

What a nice big sky! Its nice to see that there are still some places in England that are in the middle of nowhere and there aren't any buildings between you and the horizon! Or not in the direction you were looking in anyway! Awesome pictures!

If you can, give the Canon Photostitch software a whirl. It's extremely basic but does a fantastic job at autostitching photographs using the exif data in the picture.

It's free software too, but if you can't find it let me know and I'll upload it to my web server.

Damn sight easier than doing it manually!

That's one reason I love Huddersfield! I grew up in the middle of nowhere in Scotland, up a remote glen 5miles from the nearest village and nearest bus stop! This was lovely, if a tad inconvenient! I love the fact that Huddersfield is a big town with pretty much all I'd ever need close by, yet I can drive for 10 minutes up the road, and I'm faced with a place like this! Wonderful!! (except I can't often see it for rain, mist etc!!)

I've checked on the map, and the road is the A640, New Hey Road. Just here...

Google Maps

Yes, muckyduck, it's bumpy as they come - a road to respect. It was peppered with bikers on Saturday, too - it's a popular road for those of a two-wheeled pursuasion.

I'll have a go at that next time I come to stitch photos together. I'm very familiar with Photoshop, which is why I automatically use it, but I know some autostitch software can be very good. Thanks for the info.
