Does anybody have any idea what would cause the sound through my PC speakers to suddenly stop? have tried checking all the settings and have tried the speakers on my lap top and they work!! All i can think of is to re install the driver...any thoughts?

The driver is the first thing I would check but that's just me. Have a think about whether or not you've installed any software that may have caused a problem. If it's a laptop built in speaker try connecting external speakers or headphones just to test the output socket.

I did see a system with a grahics issue recently and found ATI, Intel Extreme and nVidia drivers installed so just check no one has put multiple drivers on the system.

Download the latest drivers for the sound card, will likelly fix the problem
