Hi, Suddenly got a squeaky gearchange into first and reverse. Maybe the cold weather?, seems OK when engine warmed up. Mk 2 1.9 diesel, manual not DSG. Anyone else had this or think it anything to be concerned about? Squeak seems to be coming from base of gearstick.

maybe it needs greasing up, i think there is a thread on here that said something about the grease melting off due to the gear stick being above the exhaust or something.

A quick search should revel if i am talking a load of old cobblers though.
