Warranty work done

Featured Replies

As requested by some, here is the conclusion of the grinding wheel bearing:

Took the car to the dealer today (Station garage, Ewhurst) for a new wheel bearing and EGR valve under warranty, the valve had a big oil leak and the wheel bearing was making a grinding noise on full left lock in addition to a rumbling noise at speed.

Got an Octavia FSI courtesy car (nice :D) and collected my car at 3pm.

The grinding noise has now gone completely and the engine is oil free.

They even topped up my washer fluid, top marks to the dealer.

The car is much quieter at speed and feels smoother.

the engine is oil free.

Careful with that, your car wont run for long ;) :P

Oh crap that's not right

Edit: the engine no longer has a massive oil slick down the front of it
