There are one or two people who have bought Octy's from Motorpoint that were imported from Malta I think.

I have an Octy II vRS that came from Motorpoint. Before I bought it I contacted Frank Borda, the main (& only) Skoda Dealer in Malta about a personal import. The guy there offered me a good price but when I worked out the costs of import and the hassle involved it was cheaper and easier to use Motorpoint. He also said I'd have to wait a w2hile because Motorpoint had taken all his allocation for the next 6 months. I guess offloading his vRSs in the UK isnt a problem as the potholed Maltese roads don't exactly lend themselves to either sports suspension or going fast!

Incidentally when I registered the car on Skoda's warranty database in the UK the local dealer tried to tell me that the car only had a 1 year warranty. A check to Skoda Uk confirmed that it was, in fact 2, however I also checked with Frank Borda and their service manager (a Brit expat) said that if there was a problem with Skoda iin the UK they would be happy honour the guarantee themselves.

Thats Weird! i did exactly the same with mine :D

Motorpoint havent had any sor sale for ages now though - i would defo contact Frank Boarda.

Which bit did you do the same? Get a quote from Frank Borda? The thing that killed it for me was the cost of driving it back from Malta to the UK. Otherwise the price including the duties, transit plates, etc. was similar to Motorpoint's, about

Hmm might be a bit tricky driving it back to Malta though if you gearbox went or something though...lol

Most UK spec cars come through with the lights set to daytime running anyhow.

Indeed but they would settle the bill with the UK dealer carrying out the work.:D

My reg is now a personalised one - but it came with FD06 - got it for
Same price same batch by the look of it. Puzzled by your remark about 4000 though. My Octy has reached 5600 and has not asked for a service yet.

Yep asked for one at 4,000 - the little spanner sign next to the mileage when i started up........

Heavy right foot........
