New Mini Cooper S

Featured Replies

Had one of these come screaming up behind me on the C&F road earlier today (I had an oven in the boot so I was driving gingerly  ), looked quite good as it came up behind me, and actually I quite liked the back end of the car! Photo's I've seen of it I thought made it look quite hideous, but it actually looked a lot more muscly at the back than the previous model (although the cut out of the exhausts is a touch large, even though the exhausts themselves are a much better size than the old ones were).

Wouldn't mind a go in one of them actually, although I hear the interior has gone downhill.

Milltek exhausts are a must to sort the rear of the new MCS :)

Turbo now instead of the supercharger. Multi coloured mood lighting inside is fancy..lol

Was it Gas or Electric?

Still think it looks a bit out of proportion. These would look ace though , but needs lowering as well!

Yeah, that one didn't look so bad actually . . maybe it was because it was accelerating hard at the time so had it's tail down. The oven in question was electric. :)

The New Mini Cooper S is ALOT better than the older one tbh.

The turbo'd engine rather than the supercharged one feels alot quicker, and the fuel comsumption is MUCH better. Build of the car felt a fair bit better also and its a slight more roomy.

Downside for me was the odd speedo and the fuel guage..

Spoilt it for me :/

The old one was best described as a go kart. I took one out on the harder suspension and 17" wheels (old shape S btw) and loved it. I actually really liked the supercharged engine, it had a bit of character and that supercharger delivered a fairly hefty amount of torque low down so it was very driveable.

Super-sharp steering, no body roll and bone shaking ride - but awesome on the twisties! Feels well built too even if cheaper plastics are used in places, it at least feels solid.

Will hopefully be my next car next year:P Goin to test drive one n the weekend, so will write a review about it:thumbup:

My mate has one of these fully loaded up. Its been back to the dealers more than he's driven it  They are bloody quick though, it didnt feel it sat in the passenger seat but the speedo was going up and up and up very fast. :D

His has the works kit which looks nice too.

mate of mine has the full bhoona works one....scares the bejaysus out of me!!...its too go karty for me......wouldnt want to a long run on an uneven road!!....another mate went with him up to inverness via fort william, he came back well shock up...saying at one point he had it over 150!!....i dont think he's been back in the car since!!

k:)

Both the old and new type are very good handlers, take one for test drive and see. Owning one, you'll soon see it is at the expense of comfort. Very jarring ride, and common for young cars to get old car squeeks and rattles as a result.

Take the civic type r out, and grip/handling is similar, but damping is of a different quality. Far more forgiving, and just soaks up potholes etc where the Copper s would have made you have an early visit to the non-existent NHS dentist... :)

We all know that because its not a Skodolkswagdi it'll break down every three seconds and creak and rattle after a week
