I have a 2002 Octavia vRS and was just wondering if anybody knew if i could install some 6'x9' in the front doors without too much hassle (i.e. cutting the door cards too much).

I would doubt it.

Would require custom builds, and by the time you get to that stage you would be better off installing something with better sound quality than a 6x9.

Would be surprised - the existing speakers are shallow and round, so the bulk and shape of 6x9s wouldn't fit...would involve a fair bit of cutting and probably modifying the mounting points...

I dont think you will get them in at all. The door is not very deep, and unless you use huge spacers the speakers wont fit. The other issue is the inner door, the window mechanism would also foul on the speaker.

Just get a good set of shallow components, and they will improve the sound no end,

i have a set of 17cm kenwoods and some pioneer 6'x9' but i wanted some of the new infinity 6'x9' for in the stealth shelf and thought i may be able to use the pioneers in the front. Ah well looks like the kenwoods are goin in the front, the pioneers are goin up for sale and i'm buying the new infinity's.
