Service interval display

Featured Replies

Since my car was serviced (for the first time) a couple of weeks ago, the service interval display no longer works. Prior to this, I could display the time and distance to the next service by turning on the ignition and pressing and holding the trip reset. A spanner icon then appeared together with the number of miles and days to the next service. Now all I get is the spanner and three dashes.

I queried this today with my local dealership but they did not know the answer. They checked four cars there, two new ones and two in for service: two displayed the miles/days and two displayed the three dashes.

Has anyone any thoughts on this? My car is set for variable service.

Same with mine.

Sorry Chaps, silly question, how do you check this ? My car is set up for variable, so would this still be displayed ? Many thanks

You check the service interval as described in my post above. My car is also set up for variable service.

D'oh ! Sorry about that salmac, I didn't read the post properly. Too early in the morning and not enough sleep the night before, thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it ! :D Many thanks

Tried the service interval again today & it now shows 14600 miles & 700 days to service, not just 3 dashes. My guess is it takes some time after service reset to collect data & provide new estimate - a bit like some of the other trip computer functions. Its now about 5 weeks since it had first service, time to start saving for the next one - thats Skoda price!

You are correct, it does take time for it to work it out, until then dashes appear.

I didn't know about this feature.

Chacked mine today, it says "Service Now"

But the car is only 5 months old and 4000 km on the clock. Why is that?

Anyone knows the answer, please?

Thanks

After a 180 mile motorway trip today, I again checked my service interval display. It is now showing 16000 miles and 700+ days. As you say, plenty of time to save for the next service.
