going to look at new octavias this weekend, can anyone tell me if the hatchback back seats lay flat, also i am tempted to test 1.6 fsi is this the right move.i drive wifes 1.4 16v fabia sometimes and this has been a right motor, also which colour do you like best,in and outside.thanks mustad.

I have a 2004 octavia vRS and the seats do not sit completly flat, they are angled slightly when down.

Still alot of room when down IMHO.

The floor is also not level, there is a step at the point where the seat back hinges.

Correct, forgot to add this.

On the Octavia 2 Vrs the seat cushion is split and tips up so the back rest is flat when folded down, not sure if this is standard across the range though.

fella i've got one of these under the hood of my octy, pefectly decent motor. ok not going to give you the mid-range fling of the 2.0tdi but then not going to cost you that much either.

i'm currently getting just over 41mpg, mix of m-way and dual carriage (50mph limit on the latter), i don't drive like a old boy, but neither do i thrash it.

i find the 1.6fsi to be quiet, smooth and flexible.
