Help im trying to fit an oil pressure gauge sender unit to the top of the oil filter housing on my 02 octavia vRS but the sender is too wide and tall can anyone out there help where will i get my hands on one

You mean the tee-piece that allows you to connect the gauge and the original idiot light? If so, then AFAICS they come in 1 body thickness (square section) and 30mm or 50mm lengths.

If you got a 50mm one, then the vendo should swap it for a 30mm for you.
