Coming back from work today my climatronic system only through out hot air no matter what setting it was on, ended up opening the windows as it was misting up and to hot.

Had a look on Briskoda to see what the problem might be, decided to check the fuse. That was OK so i popped it back in. Turned the engine on and all is well again now.

To my knowledge the car has not had an air con service since new, its just over 3 years old.

Is this something others have experienced or is this the start of something failing ?

More than likely the flap motor is playing up.

This is the only time it has ever happened. Ill keep a close eye on it, to see if it happens again.

Hopefully just a one off. Fingers Crossed.

Get VAG-COM on it. Worst case scenario you'll have what I had -

01271 - Positioning Motor for Temperature Flap (V68)

37-00 Faulty

Sure fire way to tell it's the same (but you'll have to wait until summer) is drive with the air con on. If it starts by getting really nice and chilly, but then twenty minutes or so into the drive it blows out boiling air for the rest of the journey you have tyhe same problem I did.

Luckily for me I was under warrenty. I don't think the part is that much, but they have to remove the entire dash board so you are looking at many hours labour....
