Dump valve from Golf 1.8T

Featured Replies

Afternoon !

A good friend of mine has just donated an alloy dump valve that he had fitted to his 200bhp AMD'd Golf 1.8T. He has sold the car and the spec' was returned to standard so I now have this dump valve....... It is a recirculating valve (I assume) due to the Golf sharing the same engine but it doesn't have a right angled take off on the top. Is this an issue or do I just go ahead and fit it ?

Cheers,

Ian

Ian,

If it's got two larger diameter connection pipes plus the small pipe, then it's a recirculating type valve. The only problem with not having the right angled connection is that it will not fit under the black plastic engine cover. My brother (aka Leeboy) has cut part of this cover away so you can see his spangley DV.

suppose the other alternative is to contact the manufacturer or a dealer and see if they can send you the right angled pipe for the top !?

Andrew,

Thanks for your response. The DV is as you've described, the only difference being that the small connection on the top is straight rather than having a 90 degree ben in it. I shall see what I can adapt to make it fit but as the car is only a couple of weeks old, I don't want to go cutting it about quite yet..

I shall let you know how I get on....

Ian, depending on the model it may fit under the cover just fine anyway. My Forge does...

Ive allways fitted the straight vacumm pipe anyway on the Octy, fits just fine.

(I work at AmD btw ;) )

But we do have spares if you need em.
