Symphony head/changer - CD-Rs?

Featured Replies

Just stuck three CD-Rs in the boot changer, and when I select the changer source it brings up 'Mechanic' on the head unit.

Is this because the changer won't read CD-Rs, or is it something more sinister?

Try giving it a good blow out, then putting a CD lenses cleaner in the Changer and giving it a run.

CD-R's worked fine in my old changer.

Had no problems for a while with copied disks then had the same message as you...tried the 'blow' ;) technique and alls well again!!

And in mine too - had mechaninc come up on mine just last week. 5 cd's 1 cdr. Problem started when I called up one of the cd's.

Took the magazine out, took the cd's out, put them all back in the same place and put the magazine back in. Everything worked perfectly......

Right, sounds like it just needs a swift kick then.

Cheers all!

*picks up lump hammer, goes outside*

CD'rs are very sensitive to dirt unlike pre copied cd's, wouldn't suprise if it was a greasy finger print or dust

Giving the changer a quick blowy sorted it.

Just don't tell anybody, right?

Thanks yet again!
