At about 2000rpm (turbo starts), car would shudder (entire body of the car). It was time for the first year service and mentioned about this fault, skoda dealer (rainworth, nottinghamshire) said theres a definate fault in each gear at that rpm; mechanic asked if i've hit anything (because it had a new front left tyre) and replied it was from a flat.

Week later they had the car for a day, next day they said theres no fault with the car, I debated that the previous mechanic agreed there was a fault - they lied and said it was a different car (to prove the lie, i mentioned about the new tyre). Customers came into the shop and the mechanic then left, with saying theres no fault.

Got into the car and there was no more vibration. Noticed however that the main kick of the turbo happens at 2500rpm. So taken the car to another skoda dealer they said the car is all ok (showing me the printed check sheet). I asked about the turbo timing, he replied saying it is out, but didnt want to do anything about fixing it.

After examing the timing of the turbo, theres a slight boost at 1500rpm, another at 2000rpm and another at 2500rpm.

Any ideas for the next step as I miss my passengers heads nodding, when the torque starts lol?

might be a sticking vnt mechanism inside the turbo, or the n75 valve playing up!! could also be an egr system fault....

pretty poor show by the dealer for being so uninterested imho

It should throw up codes.

Sounds like there is a problem with the vnt or the n75 valve.

The turbo should initaially bost at 1800Rpm if you have your foot hard down, but it will give small boosts whenever you put your foot down due to the turbo blades readjusting to suit and tries to keep on the edge of boost as much as it can to lessen the lag time.

Does it make any change in pitch if it's idling for a while?

After a certain amount of time, you can hear the turbo spooling, it lasts for approx 10 secs and then dissappears. Just wondering if yours does it more frequently or not at all?
