Steaming up after A/C usage

Well, I spoke to the dealer this morning (the ones who did the work) and I've got to drop in next week so they can take a look. It's funny how it's only started doing this since the heater flap was replaced. I'm wondering if it's cocked something else up whilst they were in there?

Normally when you put it in reverse or turn the recirc on manually the fans get louder IIRC. But, they get louder now when I turn the recirc button OFF.

It's deffo got its knickers in a twist somewhere.

Cor blimey! Dunno if you are right or wrong, but do you realise there are probably some hundreds of Briskoda members out in their cars with Jostiks and torches now?

A simple test is to turn the fans on full with no recirc then put the car into reverse and see if the fans change tone (as Chrispy did above). ;)

hi chaps -

i get misting problems no matter what you seem to set the a/c to - i realise there is a condenser element like in a fridge or freezer - but when the a/c is switched off and the ice melts where dose the water go - never found any pool of water under the car - i would have thought there should be a vent pipe(s) under the car some where to release the water - there is allways at least a thin film of moisture on the windscreen , you can tell by rubbing your finger down it - the worst time is when we go on holiday and drive over night it can be terrible - all the cars i`ve had in the past did`nt have a/c and would allways clear if you set to demist after a few moments if you needed too - i`ve even taken the polen filter out as sugested buy someone - dont know whats so great about a/c anyway :thumbdwn: , i would rather the old type ventilation system any day - its driving me nuts -

any ideas out there :)

Ok, well the car went back in yesterday to have this fixed and I ended up going home in a Roomster as they said they needed to order in a new heater control module overnight.

Today, I heard nothing from them until about 3:30pm when they rang and told me the heater control module still hasn't fixed it and they're in contact with Skoda Technical for a solution. So, it would appear replacing the 'fresh air flap motor' has caused no end of trouble. Sigh.

I want my Furby back.......sniff.......

So now would be a bad time to mention the Mondeo :P:rofl:

Chris

Never ever cleaned the inside of the glass on the Fabia and I've only used glass cleaner on the inside of the windows of the Mondeo whenever I remember (so about 3 times since I bought it!) and never had any probs at all!

Chris

Strangely enough - every other car i've had had nothing onn the windows ,but a clean cloth ( and some window cleaner) ---very little problems with misting.

Fabia was treated by dealer inside and out with some product - managed to get windscreen clear of it and no problems now, but all other windows have to be demisted on a regular basis each day - possibly because it needs treating again - so is all this gunk a backward step ???

LOL. The joys of hindsight. :D

Means I've got to run around in a 3 cylinder 1.4 TDi transit van Roomster for another day or so. Rubbish.

Can't believe all this mess just after they changed the heater flap thingy. Doesn't make any sense. Surely it's just on the wrong way round or something?

Ok, got the car back today.

Apparently they had to strip down another vRS to compare the wiring to as the documentation they have from Skoda is wrong. Took them 2.5 days in total to sort out my freaky recirculation thing including a full dash strip down and a replacement heater control module.

All I need to do now is figure out how to set my clock as it's wrong....

IIRC (and I probably don't!) you twist the left-hand kn0b in the instrument cluster to the left for increasing hours and to the right for increasing minutes.

Glad it's all sorted

Aha, ok....something so simple as setting the clock and it's confusing me...I was pressing buttons at random on the way back trying to set it. :lol

Cheers buddy.

Chris.
