central lockin on fabia classic

Featured Replies

Hi all, my name is Damien and im quite new to this so please bear with me. I have a 2000 1.4 classic fabia thats wreaking my head. The central locking refuses to work at all, i have changed the drivers door lock ( got one from a 2001 ambiante in a breakers) and checked the wiring loom and connections on the piller. Went to local skoda garage were they kindly checked by computer but could not find any faults. Turning the key in door opens and closes the drivers door lock but apart from clicking noise from other door locks nothing happens, also cant open other doors unless ignition is turn on. hope someone can advise me, best regards D.:thumbdwn:

Is it a factory fit central locking or aftermarket? I thought fabia classics of that age didnt come with it?

could be a leak in the air pipe connecting the central locking!!! ;)

My 04TDI hasent got it as standard and diesels usualy have a better spec.Suspect it could be a retro ft.

BTW- after having a central locking car last time - would be a nice addition in my case - any comments on suppliers and how to get inside door.Electric /electronic side no problem, what worries me is damaging door panels.

Seen several starting around
