Thoughts on advertising space on my car

Featured Replies

Free of course (to them)

With the show season coming up I thought about getting some stickers made up for the sides of my car which will promote Allards and Jabbasport, the primary tuners of my car.

Came up with this in MS Word. Thoughts? Any other fonts worth trying?

I would check with the them first before you advertise their diesel tuning capabilities. don't want to find yourself in any trouble!

Des

that ruins the car, don't do it

I'd go with:

Tuned by:

Allard Motor Co & JabbaSport

So they fit nicely on the doors, in a nice block font, a local vinyl printer will be able to show you samples etc :) Might be worth using their www's instead too, more exposure and easier to remember :)

Oh and OT but what wheels are they? Look nice :)

Never been there in my life., ;) Think you're referring to Mr WW_vrs. :D

VW evolo 17s. oem. ;) 17" x 7.5J wide. I love 'em.

Oh, and check with your insurance, you might find this will require you to have business-use cover... :)

Rob.

And get all insurance promises in writing!

Not sure where you're coming from with this, Jason, meaning why would you? Favour to them (probably no favour to them actually - being not their recognisable logos; also they will presumably advertise what they do, which would be difficult to isolate in any individual way on your car). Income to you? Unlikely. Insurance implications to you? Likely.

If you want to show off that it's been tuned, perhaps just run some sticky tape speed stripes down the side?

Not being mean - just don't get why?

OUCH! I just cut myself. :P

It's mainly for shows and when people wonder wtf this Skoda is so damn fast, there's a small explanation on the side. I may simply go for something a little plainer.

Hugs and Elastoplasts always available :)

I'm thinking then about that cellophane stuff that sticks on by static rather than glue, which could be put on for shows, peeled off for road then back on again. That way, you could make up a sticker (or lots of stickers) using a permanent-dye felt tip pen and a stencil if handwriting not good - and change it every week as desired. E.g. "Tuned to perfection"; "Passed its MOT" ;) Not sure where to buy it from on a roll, but it might fit the bill :)

Warburtons?

Hovis?

You'll get nowt for the space on the top of the car, too easilly obscured :D Ditto the rear :D

Why would you want to advertise how fast and how modified your car is?

You will only attract every boy racer in Devon, and every copper.

Not used this for a while. :finger: Same could be said for the text the other night. :D

I would probably swap Allard Motor Company to the lower 'line' and stick Jabbasport at the top, mainly as you'd get a full company name on each complete line that way.

What about stickers in the window?

Still don't understand why. Both companies are businesses. Presumably you have paid them your hard earned cash to do the modifications. So why give them free publicity? By all means speak to them and if they are interested, get them to pay for it.

If it is for use at car shows and the like, a simple A4 laminated sheet in the window will tell all interested exactly what you have had done to the car.

But those graphics down the side, they just make the car look like a works van! Don't do it!

Hmmm, starting to go off the idea a little myself now. :)

I have "other" plans for making something for people to read at shows. ;)

Leaflets? :P

My idea would be to, bubble write the names of the companies 'cut the shapes of the names out' and then put it over your exhaust.

Rev the car, and maybe the smoke my come out displaying the names:confused:

P2M knows what I have in mind. He's seen a copy. :D

Liking the smoke idea - for about a nanosecond. :P

Atleast you thought about it! :P

Wish you'd said that before Valentine's Day. We could all have been driving around with a love-heart template, puffing out a stream of little love hearts :)

Still could actually :)
