CD Autochanger

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

Signed on today and first post .................

I'm the proud owner of a 1.8VRS but have a proplem:confused:

every time i put a cd in the autochanger it comes up with SURFACE

can anyone help please?

the CD could be f*cked

Is it a re-writable cd ? as it won't play these in my car.

Has to be RW or original

I get every so often. Give the cd changer a good blow and the same with the caddy. Clean the cds up as good as you can and give that a whirl.

If not just take out the caddy and put it back in, after a while it seems to settle down. Everytime i put new cds in i get "surface" or "mechanical" error on the dash.

The above solves it for me.

I have only ever used CDr's and CDRW's in mine.

Oh! and welcome to Briskoda.
