Some advise needed....

Featured Replies

Hi, i'm new to this forum, and also new to Skoda...

I'm going to have to order a new company car, and we have a budget for that...

Now the Octavia RS tdi fits the budget nicely, and and my favorite hobby is rally (co-piloting, organising...) i really like it...I'm going for the break version becuase i really needs the space ...

I'm looking at the following options to add...

18' rims (just for the looks...)

Soundsystem 12LS ...

Bluetooth..

Rain detector

Any other options you guys would suggest...

Also one or two questions..

- Anyone using the standard bluetooth with a windows mobile phone (HP ipaq)

- can you see the caller on a display?

- are there buttons on the steering wheel for phone and radio...

- What is the maxidot display everyone is speaking of?

In 2 weeks i'm going to have a testdrive and will decide after that...

PS. driving a BMW320D break for the moment with the m sport kit...

Thanks for any info...

Hello and welcome to this lovely forum!

I have my vRS coming later this month. I put on 18s, Maxi Dot (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/new-octavia/maxidot-functions/72618/ ) and black metalic.

Options are a personal thing and not without financial implications. Since I have been a member of the forum there have been quite a few discussions on the subject....so have a bit of a search. However, the Jumbo/Climate/Elec rear windows option is very popular and considered a must have by alot of people. The cruise option is popular as is the Xenon upgrade to the headlights. Still you might see adding the curtain air bags as a priority, even though some reviews argue they should have been standard in the first place.

Due to the excellent work of forum members, I think heated front seats have been made an option if you ask your dealer.

The vRS comes with a "3 spoke leather sports steering wheel". I don't think you can add the multi function sterring wheel from the L and K. Might be wrong though.

Hope this gets you started,

M

Add maxi dot and Jumbo box :)

I'm guessing that as you mention Bluetooth you are in Europe as I don't think it's currently an option here. The RS steering wheel doesn't have buttons on it.

Maxi Dot is a display in the middle of the dash insert.

I have the rain sensor on mine and like but plenty don't seem to.
