How Much Power ??????

HOW MUCH POWER AND TORQUE CAN YOU GET OUT OF A OCTAVIA VRS BEFORE THINGS START TO GO WRONG

How much do you want to spend and what are you talking about in terms of engine rebuilds with uprated parts, uprated clutch/gearbox etc

Oh and don't shout ta :)

With standard internals and turbo probably around 245-250bhp MAX with 250ibs/ft torque, for that though you would need:

Blueflame 3" downpipe and 100 cell cat coupled with full 2.5" cat-back system

Jabbasport's:

  • Front mount intercooler,
  • Cold air induction kit
  • Bailey dv30
  • Bigger turbo intake pipe & other associated pipes
  • Rolling road re-map

That

those mods will not get that power.

those mods will get 220-230 at most really, don't believe one RR.

on standard internals you can go to about 340bhp and 360lbft as long as you aren't a complete nutter but you will need turbo/injectors/manifold/downpipe/exhaust/map plus lots of other things and about 4k to spend minimum and thats before upgrading the brakes and suspension to cope.

you may want to invest in a new keyboard, first

Mine has as below. Don't think much more can be had from the standard turbo (although Jim Curley at Star Performance would like to experiment on mine :D:D)

240 is about the limit on the original turbo, We used to do a cracking drop in turbo, that would give around 290 bhp with bugger all lag. but the comp coers that we used to use got very thin on the ground.

It'll be costly. but if you're really looking for performance and power, you can start with a minor mod, it could be a cold air intake. It could result in an average gain of 5hp-11hp.

I ran 340bhp on standard internals and clutch...no problems.

However the clutch and diff in gearbox are weak points.....it also depends on how you drive...particularly with the clutch.

If you rag it all the time something will let go....this is true of a standard engine/cltuch/gearbox let alone one which has been upgraded.

So...if you wear size 13 cloggs and run to the max everwhere...I suggest uprated clutch, and/or diff/gearbox. ;)

I'm with Phil on this one.

PMSL :hilarius: ;)

On a serious note though, it really depends how much you want to spend, as others have said. I believe there are a few key "stages" or limits you can reach before a next load of mods are required. For example, standard internals up to about 330-350. After that, it's pretty much a new engine. So there are potential "sweet spots" for where to go. But rag it all the time and it will possibly go bang. And you don't need to have size 13 cloggs to do that :D

seeing as the men in the know are in on this item , what size of injectors sould be used wirh an atp gt3071 turbo
