Skoda Octavia Rs No Response After 4000 R.p.m

Featured Replies

Hi,

Well I own a 2005 Skoda Octavia RS 150 bhp in India which is done 15000 km in India.

Car recently started giving a strange problem that is it does react to acceleration applied at all after 4000 RPM.

Earlier I used to reach 170 kmph between two check points but now the speedometer doesn't cross 150 kmph.

I have also given it in the official Service Centre but the result was nothing.

Could some help me out in finding the solution for the above problem.

What exactly is ill-functioning?

Regards,

Sathya

Is it still running smoothly, but lacking power over 4_000, or does it suddenly become very rough-running like the power is going on and off at least once a second although you hold the throttle position constant?

If it feels rough-running, I'd suspect either or both of tired spark plugs and a coil pack going down. I've had similar symptoms with other cars, and one or other of those (HT leads before coil packs were invented) has always been the problem.
