Octavia 4x4 and Golf R32

Featured Replies

Since both the Octy 4x4 and Golf R32 share the same platform, 4wd system and suspension geometry (as far as i know), do the suspension parts for the R32 fit the Octy?

I found this swaybars and lowering springs for the R32 in a US site and was wondering if they match.

If they do it would be great, since buying parts from the UK and having them ship to the caribbean is really expensive :(

Physically yes the suspension and front sway bar would fit. But the springs would be incorrect for the vehicles weight.

Rear sway bar doesnt fit as the Skoda body is different a the rear having a full size spare wheel and full depth wheel well.

So modifying the hole where the spare tire sits would clear the space for the say bar?

Also, is there a lot of difference in weight and its distribution? If i recall correctly, the 4x4 was around 3300lbs and the R32 around 3400lbs.

Yes panel work to the wheel well should allow the fitment of the R32 sway bar.

Not sure on the weights, if they are close enough they may be compatable.

Thank you so much for the UBERquick response. I'm buying the swaybars and going to confirm the weight difference and distribution on the 2 cars.

the rear ARB only clashes by a matter mm i believe, one of my future mods this :)

The springs are a definite no go. I had R32 springs on mine and it sat too low at the back as the 4x4 is quite a bit heavier at the rear. Very minor work is required to the spare wheel well to get the rear ARB to fit and the spare still fits in the well too.
