Browsing the Autotrader site and I found this car , and I'm sooo tempted to go and see it , even though it is probably too expenive for what it is , but I just love the 80's-ness of it , and it looks genuinely mint in the piccies , something to keep and cherish. I know it wasn't the greatest car even when new , but it is a total period piece! Just think , when the 2012 Olympics come to London it will be almost 30 years old!

I would say probably overpriced but then again, if it was inspected and found to be in such an impeccable condition (i.e., as good as nearly new?!) then I would pounce probably. I would love an 80's hot hatch, XR2 (NOT XR2i!!!), Golf GTI etc. . . unfortunately boy racers have ruined my chances of being insured within reason. :(

Got a MK1 golf gti cabrio. It amazes me that besides normal consumables, It starts everytime, runs sweet, everything works as it should and get 38 MPG on the work run and is almost 20 years old. Only 1 small problem...not the most macho car ever , but hey so what i enjoy it.
