Am looking at getting the SPS1, like the idea of being able to drop back to standard maps for long runs. Who's had theirs done though? Would be interested in hearing a few opinions on these and 'full' remaps.

You may find the car performs better and gets higher mpg with the re map over standard. My car hasnt got a revo on it but mine was done by chipboost and I see better mpg on long runs. Also it depends on driving style and how heavy or light you are with the throttle?

I have a revo remap and I wouldn't bother with the SPS switchbox. The MPG can be better than standard if you drive it conservatively, but I can't resist and therefore my average MPG sits around the 43 MPG mark. Not bad considering my car rarely sees the motorway.

The power gain is impressive and still makes me smile over a year after having it done. My clutch is slipping occasionally however, but that's my fault for flooring it at low revs in higher gears. I just use the 'italian deglaze' method and that makes my clutch as good as new after (well, it feels and bites ok again! :) )

I'd recommend the revo remap, I'm very happy with it.

It's as much for convnience as anything else, they can post it to me and away I go. Can also disable it when the wife drives the car ;)

I assume it is just a postal job or is it unique to the car, do you have to visit site to get one done?

i was going to go with Celtic Tuning they have great power and torque gains for the price aswell and come out to you and fit it

Oh, sorry, I thought you just wanted a switch so you could revert back to the factory settings. I have to admit, I've not looked at any remap technologies since getting mine done so didn't know Revo now offered a postal service like the one-click. :) Oops! I had to go to a Revo dealer to get mine done. I honestly think once you switch it on you won't switch it off again, for your wife or otherwise. The car is still perfectly driveable with everything on, she just won't need to push the GO pedal down so far! :) lol

o ye reason i cancelled booking was gettin a black VRS this week so would of been pointless me gettin it done

Not sure if the SPS1 is one-click, did mail a reseller about a week ago and not heard anything yet :(

Will do some more digging :) The SPS1 also seems to be alot cheaper than other maps or I would go for a custom service. Looks to be about $199 or £200 in the Uk.

Those figures are VERY optimistic for just a remap. If they are anywhere near that which I very much doubt then you will need the £100 saved to replace your flywheel and clutch. You will also never be able to use that power as it will just spin. At least the REVO map doesn't take the engine, transmission and suspension outside of it's comfort zone and actually compliments the car.

The SPS is a switch separate from the map however you don't need the SPS to turn the Revo map off, it can be done in Vag Com.

Just to let you know, I'm not have a dig either.... It's up to you of course! But.. a Fabia vRS will never reach 195 and 310 with JUST a remap, the turbo just can't take it. If you have a look on Awesome GTI's website, there is a Fabia vRS with

Filter, PD160, Blueflame and Celtic's remap and still made around the 170 mark. Can't remember as such. It's really difficult to get a Fabia vRS's standard turbo past the 180 mark. IMO.

Even the PD150's with a remap struggle. But like Decron said, the other components won't last long.

Right, so to bring this back OT ;)

The consensus is that the Revo remaps are good?

I would say they are fine and it's obviously a well supported product which means if you have issues or want anything altered you won't have to go too far to sort it. Last one I saw on VRS made 157 bhp straight after being put on. This will settle down a bit when run in as the ECU will adapt and will probably make 160-165 ish.

However, figures especially BHP are pub talk, it all comes down to how driveable the car is.

I recently thought that mine was down on power and a RR seemed to confirm it. Then the turbo popped and It was repalced, the car seemed to run even better than before so I did another RR and got exactly the same figures proving to me that the figure really isn't important, although the shape of the curve (The delivery of the power is)

The steeper the torque curve means it's going to be a bit of a nutter to keep the power down and will run out of steam earlier

Have a look at this one which is a custom, this shows the torque peaking later and going on for longer, much better in the real world ;)

Looks like Revo is the ticket with a custom map etc later :)

If you had an accident or for warranty work etc. It still wouldn't be hard for the Dealer's to confirm whether or not you've had a remap on your car. It's logged the settings, the dates etc. Good idea though, but they are traceable. (I think)

h4rri, ever thought of a tunit instead? with one of these you can unplug it and take it off, or you can alter the power via tunning box for when your wife is driving, there are 9 settings, the tunit will give you + 25 bhp well within comfort zone

I have Revo and a SPS 1.

Didnt get the switch at first, but my turbo kept cutting out at high revs. Apparently a turbo fault but doesnt do it in standard mode. Anyway lol, its well worth getting the switch. On the motorway you have to keep the revs up to save the clutch, which is fine when you're in the mood but gets annoying. And obviously you're not putting as much strain on the engine with it turned off.

Performance is better with it turned on- you have to drive like its a petrol. And with a Blueflame exhaust makes the turbo alot louder and high pitched aswell a deep exhaust note. Only when your foots down though.

You'll need to go to a Revo dealer to have the software downloaded onto the ECU. Its not like a one click.
