55K variable service plus a New Sump

Had the octy ( 130 tdi pd ) in for its 3rd service today at 55k miles , no surprise at first with cost etc and service from the Kent dealer was good , however was advised that the Sump plug was tight coming out and that the previous service dealer up in Essex must have put it in wrong or too tight , result

Well sue them both in the small claims court if they get like that ;)

Check the exact VIN of your car as I was under the impression that the TDI PD130 was an 80k belt, but I could be wrong.

I thought 80k for the belt as well so will confirm with Skoda service people ( if they know anything ) was thinking to get it done before the 60k mark such that i am still under warranty , in case anything else is found out when they do it , also intend getting the water pump replaced with the metal type ( as per many threads advise ) Lucky they had a sump in stock as they do a lot of police cars on a reguilar basis thats what the service guy said . Moral of the story so far dont rely on a Skoda dealer to repair another Skoda dealers failings , will need to talk to customer services about that one . :thumbdwn: l

Should have a new bung every oil change so check your invoice and should be torqued to 30nm.

Invoice from the last service in June 2006 did have a New Sump plug fitted although i have noticed it is a different part number from the new one fitted this time by the Kent dealer . Will be visiting the Essex dealer wednesday with old sump , plug etc and be asking for my money to be refunded. Most aanoyed that i am having to do all the running around to get it sorted though .

Took the sump back to LAZER Skoda in Harlow today , they did the last service , he was not happy did not think they had fitted or tightened the plug wrong , but paid up and refunded the money i had paid on Monday for the New Sump to be fitted . Good Result .Just proves that fitting the
