Octavia - attaching MP3 Player

Featured Replies

Hi

Been looking into this and not wanting to use an FM transmitter. Looking to run an MP3 and keep the boot-changer going too. I am buying an ambience or elegance 2002-2004 estate diesel within next two weeks and wondered if I need to be careful what model of stereo is in it. I had read somewhere there is gadgetry that allows you to switch between the boot changer and mp3 player but only with certain grundig head units. Any help would be much appreciated.

I use a tape adapter with my ipod and mp3 player.

Sound quality is good and thats from a poundland tape adapter.

I have a the Standard Symphony + 6 Disc Changer.

Welcome to Briskoda bigcog.

i got a lead at imc witney car audio connets to the back of the stero and has a normal heaDPHONE JACK AT THE OTHER END the stero need programeing to think the mp3 player is a six disc cd player

trying to avoid the cassette adaptor route if I can as i've not found them so good before, and have heard a mates fm transmitter and its a bit crackly. cable is the way to go if i can but a I really want to keep the boot changer and mp3 available. i have my reasons, mp3 player for my music and the boot changer for my daughters story cd's. when she nods off i can change to my music and she won't lose her place in her story ;-)

I used a FM sender in my octy and the sound quality was poor (crackly) but my step brother uses it in his clio now and it works with perfect sound quality.

i'm going for the cable with headphone jack to plug into my auxillary input on my stereo although i'm running a clarion head unit as my standard skoda issue model was crap so that got binned along with the speakers when i picked my car up.

just found out the car i am particularly interested in has the symphony stereo, not the grundig. anyone know if there is anything can be done with these?

Try this:

Products

The dension bit is an add on, not part of the skoda stereo.

gotcha, ok, had a word with their distrubuter and this goes in the fm signal and you tune it in, so better than a wireless fm transmitter but not as good as purely via cable, but at least its something. will keep this one in mind, cheers

several of these on ebay, thanks sluton, this could be an ok option for me, keep the whole family happy, and now I have an excuse to buy an ipod (maybe not). ;-)

IIRC there's a version of this:

Ipod MP3 Car Stereo Adapters & connectors

That works as a two-in-one into the CD changer socket, allowing you to run both the I-pod and changer.

However, having just bought a car where the Itrip is crackly, I can't now for the life of me find it...
