Goodbye to the RS! Hello.............

Featured Replies

Jaguar X-Type!!!!

Time for Lou to get some 4 wheel traction I'm affraid, so we've put down the deposit on a 3.0L V6 Sport. Ok not as quick as the Chipped RS but very very swish and comfortable.

If only they sold the RS with 4X4........

We've had an offer on the RS, but if anyone's interested then give me a PM. We're looking for 11K+..........

Looks like a lot of the "old stagers" from the Vortex days are moving on... Sad...

My move wasn't really voluntary, as I left the company car scheme, and they wouldn't let me buy my car. So I'm trundling around in a nice comfy Omega 'til I work out what I really want. It was cheap, with lots of toys, but I miss the surge of a turbo!

I think I need 4X4 RS L&K........

sigh, not even gonna reply to that.

:(

Well, it would be good if they made a vRS 4x4 "out of the box", so

that those who like bodykits and aren't into chipping can enjoy it :D

Rob.

I have no plans to change car yet, off to the ring in a few weeks :D :auto: :driving:

Looking at your spec, I can see you have! That was a thought, to get a 1.8T and mod it but the price for all the work wouldn't be worth it in this country.......

Have fun 8) 8) 8)

Matt,

I know :(

I realise I'm lucky to be living in Holland, as apparently the Netherlands are the only European country where the 4x4 is actually 1000 pounds cheaper than the RS. With the money saved I was able to get a long way in upping the 4x4 spec without any real additional cost.

But I understand it's not so straightforward in other EU countries. But hey, the X-Type is a great car that is undeservedly undersold here in Holland - in the UK as well? I'm not even close to being able to afford one - your 3-litre is double the price of an Octavia 4x4 with all the mods I could imagine!

Incidentally, the X-Type's disappointing sales figures, over here at least, have nothing to do with the price. I think it's because it's been unable to lose its Mondeo tag, and Jaguar helped that image sustain itself rather nicely by introducing a FWD 2-litre version later on. What's "Jaguar" about that? A deadly mistake, IMHO.

Cheers,

Matt

Matey, we have the same problem here with the X-Type,. The Ford stigma is there alright, but I don't see Aston Martin sales struggling

I can't believe how cheap your motors are, top shout and if you can get them cheap then why not :x

I love the X-Type for the ease in which it can get you from AtoB without any fuss at all........ Nice

Happy driving and enjoy your 4X4 RS :D:D:D:D

Matty :P
