A Question on Air-Con?

Featured Replies

I have Fabia vRS and thrilled wi it.

This is the first car I have ever had with air-con.

Now I know that it regulates a constant low temperature for the cabin.

Does this work the opposite way? As in it will keep a constant temperature when I want the cabin to be kept warm?

I would look in the manual but it's cr'p!

Thanking you all

The car is Climatic control which means you set the temperature you want (on the dial) and it does it's best to maintain that temperature by adjusting the ratio of hot and cold air. Air con being on will only serve to dry out moisture from the air if the temperature is set to warm....

This differs from real climate control systems (eg Climatronic) in that Climatic does not have control over the fan speed or the vents used to achieve the desired temperature :D

If you find that the temp inside the car starts going a bit haywire....as in when set at 18 degress that it's whacking out red hot air from the vents etc then the motor that controls the fresh air flap has got it's knickers in a twist and needs re-calibrating. This can be done at a dealer (under warranty too) or by someone with VAG-COM. I had my motor replaced under warranty as it was doing just this.
