Good choice. Like the 'beastly' plate too

Looks well Len:thumbup:

Did you call into the Turnpike as you were there?

Or was it shut:rolleyes:

Aha - a black Octavia vRS estate.

Seems vaguely familiar

But looking good mate - enjoy!

Very nice indeed, love the devil plate.

Yes, sets it off a treat :)

Bloody hell Len you must just live round the corner from me. Keep your eyes peeled for a mucky Storm blue 4x4 estate! I'll look out for your number plate. Lightcliffe are great dealers too, took em a while but sorted my car out in the end. PS good job you were taking pictures at the road side not in the carpark in the distance or you might have been getting more attention than the car lol!

Will keep them peeled m8. You must come to the next local meet if we can find

a large enough pub to fit us all in. Things seem to be going from a small meet

to a large one

Looks the dog's danglies to me. Is it too early to start modding?

I've just got back from the DVLA in Leeds.

I went armed with all my paperwork, expecting to wait another 3 weeks:(

The nice man just smiled, handed me my new mot certificate and tax disc and said " don't forget to inform your insurance company"

So I've just spent 20 minutes in the cold putting my new plates on ( lopsidedly:rolleyes: ):D

 That looks REALLY good!

I may get one but in yellow or white "G5VRS" what do you think andy some time i wish I not sold My fabia but I would never get another black car ever

Whooa....hang on, am I misreading here?

If you stick a private plate on your car do you have to let your insurance company know? Mine isn't an obvious one it's an 07 plate that just happens to have my initials and my short surname on it. It's a bit like Skodaw's plate that Mitchells put on. You wouldn't know unless you knew me?

If it was a valuable or unusual plate I could see why perhaps, but not this surely?

Thanks,

M

"yes other wize your not insuraned because it says your plate on your ins papers what would you do if police do a chq on your car"

cost me £20 to change the paper work

You have to inform your insurance company of any alteration to your vehicle.

Mine has gone from a generic '03' plate, to a vanity plate, so of course I have to inform the insurers.

After all, they only know the car through its reg. number.

If, however, your car was insured with your reg. number already on it, and you consider it of value, you have to point out that your number may be of value, and insure it against theft, in a a separate clause.

because if your car is stolen and not recovered, your number plate is lost.

God's sake, DM Keith aint getting Halifax as well are they?? Huddersfield looks like a ghost house since they took over. Really hope your wrong as when I spoke to them during the change over at Huddersfield some of the service staff said they wouldn't be hanging around if they got Halifax as well. Well if that happens guess Benfield in Harrogate will be getting all my future business as DM Keiths weren't interested when I was 1st looking.

Right, thanks for those replies.

It will carry the 'private' plate from scratch so wont have to fiddle there but yes I will look insuring the plate.

I must admit I hadn't thought that through, bloody glad I'm a member of this forum.

Cheers Gordysmit and Mr Grumpy! :)
