Hello - I have owned an Octavia GLX Tdi 90 diesel since 1999 and have done 105,000 miles in it. It has generally been a very happy experience. I am looking to buy a new car with all the virtues of the present one like 100% reliability, 59 mpg overall, big boot, room for 5 people, excellent seats but with better ride comfort and handling.

I tried a Subaru Forester 2.0 this week - a very good vehicle but I can't face 30 mpg and all the emissions.

BTW I am an advanced driver and a recently qualified observer with the IAM.
