Have Just Been Using The Cruise On My Fabia

Featured Replies

Just been on the motorway and was cruising at around 60 mph.

I came upto a car that I wanted to overtake and instead of pushing the accelerator I (dunno why) slid the cruise switch to the far left. Hope you are following me.

And it smoothly started to accelerate. I then set it to my speed and carried on with my journey.

Is this ok to do this what I have explained above? I still not used to the inns and outs of cruise so if anyone can elaborate then be grateful

Cheers Guys and Girls:) :)

This is exactly what I do on the company SEAT - I don't know of any reason why you can't do this.

Yep :)

It feels weird when you're doing it, but it's perfectly fine to do that

Cruise has incremental accelate & decelerate.

If you press the end button it decelerates as well

yep, thats what its meant to do.. youll find itill only work over a certain speed as well (i think the mondeo was about 26mph)... to stop you driving into the back of other cars :)

as far as i know all modern cars with cruse do the same and i dont think i have driven a car with cruse that will work under 26mph i supose all modern cars are the same

Use mine all the time in the lower speed limits ...... works from 15mph

Don't need to use cruise at 15mph... 3rd gear will keep that speed :)

it's a good party trick for your friends "look!, no feet" and the car accelerates forward :D

Off switch and brake pedal switch both dead i assume........??

thats a pretty serious failure if both went.....

Assume it was an auto too? Engine off and hope for the best moment lol!!!

Chris

Where is the cruise switch ?

I hav2 a 2000 1.4 MPI Comfort .....

Any ideas

It's on the indicator stalk, but is a dealer fit option now and I don't think was available back in 2000 so you may not have it.......

Auto yes, Im guessing her tried both of the above. although in that situation it would be kinda hard to think quickly as you'd be well shocked.

Ok - But what does it look like - Is it obvious to find?

Cheers

If its an auto you should just be able to slide it into neutral. All the auto's I've used allow you to do this. Then handbrake, or normal brakes. Too late now though. Bet it was a bit scary!

I love this quote from that:

Police patrol cars were also sent but struggled to catch up with the BMW 318.

It seems I bought the wrong car to outrun the Police in ;)

If you have cruise control you'll have an indicator stalk on it with more functions than you expected!! :P

Well yeah _ Which indicator stalk should it be on left or right assuming you are sitting in the car

I can't take that question seriously mate - I'm not going to answer it.
