Featured Replies

I have cruise fitted and use it quite often but the Police keep telling me to move on.........why!!

Well yeah _ Which indicator stalk should it be on left or right assuming you are sitting in the car
It's in the middle, with the numbers one to six on it, and an R.

Careful Shifty... after reading this someone may ask you wether you sit behind it, in front of it, or on it!!

PS:

This picture is here to show what a typical VAG cruise contol looks like. Yes, the car is an Octavia and, yes, it is RHD. HTH in view of the various comments which follow...

But thats clearly an octavia..... (even tho the picture is blurry  )

Cruise will not be on a 1.4 8v

In teh tech bulletin for the dealer fitting on it, it says its only for the 1.4 16v upwards, as the htp and the 8v dont have enough power to maintain crusing speeds economically :)

Ok, let's look at a cruise control gadget in a left hand drive vRS

We can draw a map too ;)

Not recomended for the 1.0l 37kW or the 1.4l 44kW ;)

What the hell is that green and red thing.

The cruise control is in the middle of it, so there's no doubt where it can be found.

Supposing you haven't got a green and red thingy, how would you know where the middle of it is.

Is there a part number and an install guide for the green and red thingy.

IIRC, I think the the part no is TAK1NG-TH3-P155..............:D

You can easily order the install guide from any dealer in Czechoslovakia

I originally posted this question. But I have another one!

Using the cruise instead of the pedal to accelerate-is it more or less economical???

Thank you all.........

It depends on how gently or otherwise you accelerate without using cruise.

You "can" easily accelerate more economically without using cruise though if you are careful. :)

sod all difference I imagine. If you want to accelerate gradually, very gradually, then use the throttle and just hit the set button again when you've reached the speed you want. :)

Just been on the motorway and was cruising at around 60 mph.

I came upto a car that I wanted to overtake and instead of pushing the accelerator I (dunno why) slid the cruise switch to the far left. Hope you are following me.

And it smoothly started to accelerate. I then set it to my speed and carried on with my journey.

Is this ok to do this what I have explained above? I still not used to the inns and outs of cruise so if anyone can elaborate then be grateful

Cheers Guys and Girls:) :)

If you use the accelerator to overtake when cruise is on, as soon as you take your foot off the accelerator it'll go back to your previously set speed again. ;)
