excel, fit image to screen

Featured Replies

I have an excel spreadsheet and imbedded in the background is an image with the company logo in the top right, problem is when i send the sheet out the logo gets cut off because different screens run at different resolutions

is there a way to resize the image to fit with the edge of the visible sheet?

i hope that makes sense

Other than by having a very clever auto-run macro that resets the screen zoom based on the user's monitor size, no. Best suggestion would be to place the logo top left.

Move the logo to the top left as mentioned by Ken, its the only real way to deal with the problem you are having. If you designed it at 1024x768, then the text may end up to small on other resolutions, making the workbook unreadable especially for someone with poor eyesight.

you could write a bit of vb script that does it automatically

I said that, but you'd have to:-

1) Get your clients to open a workbook with an autorun macro in it. I wouldn't do that unless I knew it existed, and what it's for.

2) Read the screen res from Windows (How? Is it even possible?).

3) Experiment with different zoom factors until you get the optimum largest zoom that leaves the logo visible with smaller screen sizes.

4) Deal with the disability access issue that says you just plain shouldn't enforce a zoom factor on people in case they're partially sighted!
