Can you paint an intercooler?

Featured Replies

Spray it matt black this gives more surface area and so more cooling

Matt black will be the best colour, but I don't see how it will increase your surface area significantly:confused: .

Matt Black will radiate, and absorb heat more effectively than gloss, or any other colour. So if its hotted than its surroundings, it'll cool better, but if its colder, or in direct sunlight, then it will warm up quicker.

A thin coat is better, as the thicker the paint, the more insulation your adding!

Cleaning it will probably the one I go for ;)

Just working at recouping the money I spent on those RS6 wheels, although that saved me from buying new tyres for quite some time so that's ok..

Still have to pay for the engine at some point in the next couple of weeks though which will hurt :(

Not much to look at, but took these pics earlier..................
