Behold the Blue Bullet

Featured Replies

Well i finally got my car yesterday. I managed to get to the garage at 0950 after getting up at 0330. (no im not sad i live in the fatherland and had to fly back to pick car up in brighton). Obviously i got there early to sort out any necessary paperwork:rolleyes: .

Anyhow at 1120 hrs, after a thorough walkthrough talkthrough of the car by the dealer, i finally set of on an epic journey.

My first impression of the car was WOW. I first put my foot down after leaving Calais, the drive from Brighton to Dover i took really easy, and my face was like this:eek: . Even only taking it to 4500rpm it pulled harder and faster than any car i have owned (even a 256bhp puma shows how far technology has prgressed in 9yrs). The second time i did it and every time after that my face was :D.

The drive then across europe to home i stuck at between 80 - 100mph (3000-4000rpm) and got a fuel return of 35.2mpg which again impressed me mightly. My omega wouldnt even manage that downhill at 55mph.

Ive only got the one pic at the moment as i had to send one to SWMBO so i took it with my phone. Im gonna clean it today before i take some more pics and will post in next few days. If you all dont see me for a while its cos im playing:rolleyes:  .

Only bad point i found was all four tyres were infalted to 2.40 bar instead of 2.10 i pointed this out to the dealer and he promptly sorted it other than that it was immaculately clean and the walkthrough talkthrough was very beneficial.

currrently im walking round like this:D :D :D :D

see you all in a few days.

Congratulations!

You chose the fastest colour too ;)

Looks nice mate :)

Lucky so and so ;) .....You should find your MPG gets even better than tat once the engine settles down a bit and you get used to the best way to drive it.

Been driving to and from work today, short journey of about 2.5 miles, obviously to show people the car and in my omega i would average about 13-14 mpg so far im averaging 26.5mpg. So yet again the car is impressing me mightly. Done a total of 472miles (only had 4 on it when i picked it up) and according to MPG 2 ive averaged 32.7mpg.

Not took any more pics yet as its been a miserable day over here (and ive been to busy cruising around to all my mates houses. Apparantly sunny tomorrow so im gonna clean it and then ill take some pics before i take it the garage (i've not broke it just need second foglight enabling and headlights switching to continental)

Still got a face like this:D :D :D :D :D

Best thing ive bought in years.

Glad you are enjoying it.

Nice car and nice colour. :)

Great stuff Mater! :)

What did your mates think of it?

M

Edit: Did yours have a 'warning triangle' fastened in the boot? Hand book mentions it, but not sure if it is supposed to come with one, wasn't one in mine.

Cheers,

M

Mates thought it was great and were surprised by the car (still expected it to be crap i think being a skoda).

My car didnt come with a warning triangle. I read that in the hand book too but apparantly that and the first aid kit are optional extras from a delear. besides i have a warning triangle anyway as its a legal requiremnet in the fatherland.

Off to go clean the car now as its a lovely sunny day. The to the garage to see if i can sweet talk them into enabling second foglight for free and switching headlights to continental.

Hi Mater (and Marwood),

Top Notch cars :cool::D:thumbup:

I'm envious as I'm still waiting for mine. :(

Ordered it 1st Feb and dealer is still promising to deliver this week although he can tell me no more than it left the factory on 13th March and I NEED it for the end of this week.

When did you order yours?

Dealer has just told me; Car arrived in UK on Friday (23rd).

Now trying to get it delivered to them in the next day or two.

Hi bahnstormer

I ordered my car in january but told dealer i didnt want the car before march as i wanted it on a 07 plate. originally was supposed to get it on 5th march but was delayed till 24th as they couldnt get it in race blue for love nor money. if your car arrived in uk on 23rd you should have it by end of this week. mine arrived in uk on 21st and was at dealers on 23rd and i picked up 24th so hang in there mate it should be ready soon.

Based on your timetable there is hope for me yet to get it on Thursday pm; I want it for a trip I'm doing on Friday.

I only placed my order 1st Feb so overall I thing I have done well, especially as I have an obsure list of options.

Thanks Mater, pleased yours was the same. My colleagues at work today all liked it......at least to my face :). Hows the front passenger door closing? Mine a needs a harder push than the others to close properly. Will get this sorted however.

Bahnstormer, I ordered mine on the 20th Jan.

All the doors close fine on mine sometime have to give drivers one a bit more of a shove but i just think thats me being to gentle with it being new.

One question when you put your car in reverse does your passenger wing mirror tilt down? my manual says it should but it dosent and ive checked that the switch is in the 'R' position as it says. Also do your puddle lamps come on or do you only get that with the light assist option??

Nice motor mate,

I pick mine up in 2 weeks from the same dealer (Griffin i presume byt the photo shot)

Can't wait might have to come to Osnabruck with mine will bring steve VRS with me as he has an Estate version. Where abouts in Osnatraz are you i used to be in Roberts now serving a life sentence in Fally.

All the Best

Lee

Dealer called just now; they get my car tomorrow morning and I take delivery Thurs pm; can't wait. :D:D:thumbup:

Good to know that there are a few vRS in Germany allowed to roam free on the A'bahn. Far better habitat than the M25!!

Hi Mater, I'm pretty sure to get the wing mirror to adjust you need to have memory seats. Also depends what hand car you drive. If yours is a right hand drive, you need to keep it on L vice versa.

Cheers Vimto will try it

Hotdog i work in Belfast bks but im a pad so live out. By all means come to osnatraz however will have to be either between 7 and 12 April or after 15 June as im in the uk on leave then im of to canada.

Also yes my car did come through Griffin. Very friendly and helpful.

My mirror doesn't move and My puddle lights don't come on......I think. I have no memory seats or light assist.....sadly.

Everything is going vRS crazy....it's just great!

M

Averaging 30+ mpg  going to have to chop off the wifes right foot, or at least shorten her leg a few inches :D
