Engine revs searching

Featured Replies

1.3mpi felicia - when she gets going and I am sat at lights I find that the revs arent steady, they dont fluctuate by much maybe about 50rpms but its noticable and doesnt sound healthy.

Any ideas where to start looking? I have had the thermo and temp sensor replaced in the past 3 months and Im about to give her an oil change after 10k miles and adjust the valve clearances.

ps: still go my little kangarooing issue, dealer couldnt find any problems at all, this is driving me nuts, when i put my foot down in 2nd, 3rd the acceleration isnt smooth, also when you take your foot off or crawl in 2nd or 3rd i kangaroo all over the show. I have adjusted the throttle cable to take the slack out and that helped but not solved it.

clean the throutle body.

adjust the valve clearances check the fuel presure regulator.

how does one clean the throttle body thoroughly, ive been in there and had a good wipe with a clean cloth, didnt want to use anything on it for fear of breaking everything. I opened the valve using the throttle cable and had a wipe around the area where the contact with the valve is but do I need to get inside it or spray anything in there?

a quick wipe were the butterfly seats, is usualy suficiant.

having said that, mine has just started flutuating a bit. is yours a 1.6. or a 1.3???
