Dragon Tuning Box Piccies???

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm toying with the possibility of one of the Dragon Digital Tuning boxes for my vRS. Having never seen a car with something like this fitted, I wondered if someone who has one can show me a couple of piccies so i can see what it looks like / where it is positioned when fitted.

Cheers

Dave.

I don't have any photos but it sits between the battery & airbox & the cables clip onto the existing ones. It's as tidy or scruffy as you want it to be really.

Do it, you won't regret it & the difference between that and a remap is really very small.

Does the unit itself attach to anything?? I.e. does it screw to something within the engine bay or does it just 'hang free' so to speak.

Cheers

It hangs free unless you choose to make a bracket or similar for it to attach to. I have mine plugged in to the engine plug, with the wiring then running in front of the battery box behind the slam panel, with the box tucked in on top of the wing inthe space behind the headlamp, and to the right of the battery box. I've yet to screw it down as it were, though I may just gaffer tape it to the nearest surface.

I'm very close to buying one also. May put the order in tomorrow. When you have fitted it do any lights come up on the dash?

Also would you buy a brand new 1 for £289 or a refurbished 1 for £200 quid from their ebay shop?

From what it says the refurb one's still have a full 3 year warranty so i was going to go for one of those.

**EDIT** I had another look and realised it doesn't mention the warrenty...... I used the ask a question jobby and Dragon have replied confirming the refurb units still have the 30 day refund and 3 year warranty.

there's pictures of mine in this thread here (post #8):

although I believe they've slightly changed the looks of the unit now... :)

(edit: incidently, when I had my Fabia, it was sat at the back next to the water intake for the wiper / washer fluid... )

Thanks for the reply matey but i was wanting to see what the unit looked like when fitted so i had an idea of where the unit sits in the engine bay and whether it is secured to anything etc.....

Cheers

Dave.

It is secure - you can tell if a car's had one on because the insulation on the underside of the bonnet has a dent in it :D

Basically it's a perfect sit between battery, airbox & underbonnet insulation - the latter compresses and holds it perfectly secure.

Buy one they're great  I had one on for over 20K and not a single issue.

Had mine cable-tied against the battery box on the right-hand side, padded it with a bit of rubber to avoid it moving about.

Wasn't on for that long though :P
