Octy MK1 VRS - Buying Advice please...

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of shopping my wife's 2001 Megane 1.6 in for a MK1 VRS.

Talking to my local dealer he tells me they are thinking of offering the tuning upgrade to 240BHP as a dealer fit offer and covering with a 1yr warranty. Cost around

240? Sounds too good to be true with a standard engine! 220 tops I think.

Other than that on a well looked after engine serviced regularly there should be no ill effects.

Isn't this engine good for 240? Leon Cupra / Audi TT?

Yes, but requires more mods - exhaust/CAT etc and FMIC.

Oh OK - so do you think it's OK to run at 220 with everything else as std?

more importantly... who's the dealer ?

Should be fine mate, most decent remaps should see about 220bhp, plenty about with just a remap only thing that might suffer abit is the clutch.
