What colour is a Symphony Head Unit?

Featured Replies

Just had mine replaced under warranty.

I'm sure the previous unit was black, this one is a dark grey?

It's not in keeping with the VRS dash - will it change colour now that it'as been given life outside a box?

Cheers all

Umm, mines dark grey - but then the surround is dark grey too! I've got a 06 vRS

Seems funy, mine is black on the 54 Plate. I'd check with them to see?

Odd to have a dark grey radio and suround and a black dash? worth asking?

I have a dark grey head unit with black buttons - doh!

I wonder if the radio facsias can be swapped?

04 Fab vRS - bought Dec 06. Finally sussed Symphony was defunct a few days later. Got replacement new one in Jan 07. Both fascia and dash are black.

Check it against mine tomorrow if you want.

If you take a good photo of the dash bits and radio and compare....

They're all subtly different shades of very dark grey and black, hence the reason I sprayed mine :)

Yes the fascias come off the symphonys, but not that easily and you have to break the "warranty void if removed" tags to do so. Having written that, a couple of screwdrivers is all that's required (ISTR...)

If you wipe it with dash cleaner it will be the same colour

That's the first time I've encountered the phenomenon of a respray for a car radio.Welcome to the world of hardcore Skoda ownership.

ROFL....

I decided I didn't like the medley of dark greys and blacks, so I sprayed the a/c and heater panel and everything up to the ASR and rear heated screen buttons etc. Oh, and the gear surround and the ashtray lid.

Remembered I've already got photos of mine.
