Just a quick feeler

How come sometimes i can hear my dump valve i.e. when cold

and sometimes i can't

Is everyone the same or is there a fault

it's like yesterday drove round couldn't hear it

parked for thirty mins drove off down a big a road and could hear it when changing into fifth

i have a forge 007p which i have just serviced although it was the same beefore the service

your views greatly accepted

i'm on the standard bosch item, mine is more audible since i had me a cone filter, with the stock airbox it just couldnt be heard, but i'm told that as its a recirc and it dumps back into the inlet, it doesnt make a big chuff like your average 5 turb or rs etc. i find that mine makes a lovely hiss when i let off the throttle real quick at anything up to 4000 revs but after that its hard to hear it at all on gearchange. sometimes when accelerating in say 3rd gear from around 30mph and letting off the throttle lightly on changing to 4th, i get a real nice real loud chatter from the wastegate, and although im told thats a bad thing, its sounds ace

I hear mine sometimes more than other times to.

I know it sounds louder when the engine is cold as with the CAI.

Or this is just me on that one.

So nothing wrong then it's just the way they are

I don't get the chatter i think your right in saying it ain't healthy

Im in a red Octy vRS on a X reg personalised plate.

I've noticed it being louder when in more of a built up area - like local smaller streets where the houses arent as far away(oposite each other). As though the sound is being bounced back - also noticed it louder on cold mornings along with much much better throttle responce
